Welcome to our vineyard overlooking Okanagan Lake. The vineyard was originally planted by J.W. Hughes in 1928. Our vineyard sits on 56 acres of land of which is 34 are planted. We are proudly growing Chasselas, Riesling (the oldest of which were planted in 1978!), Foch, Gamay Noir, Pinot Meunier, Pinot Noir, and Pinot Blanc. In 2025 we also added L'Acadie, Räuschling, Heida, Lemberger, and new Merlot Kanthus plantings.

Sustainability and nature focussed farming practices were never catch phrases; they were a natural approach to farming. That ethos was passed onto Reto and Michelle, who also approach farming with the goal of minimal intervention on our certified organic vineyard.

In addition to the vines our vineyard is home to many creatures great and small. We have set aside a portion of the vineyard to remain in its natural state; a safe haven for our winged and four legged  neighbours. 

Leo moved from Switzerland to Kelowna in 1984  and purchased the now almost 100 year old farm from Tutti Mannhardt. Leo and Barb fell in love with the views of the lake, the hospitality of fellow farmers in the area and the opportunities that Kelowna presented. 

After a couple of years growing grapes and selling them to local wineries Leo and Barb started a winery of their own. In 1994 Leo's brother joined the winery. In 2023 Leo's brother retired from the winery and the following year Leo's children decided to start their own winery. 

The name Waldhof is an ode to Barb's family farm in Switzerland. When Michelle and Reto's Great Great Grandfather purchased the farm in 1907 there were grapes growing on a hill behind the house.

We are looking forward to opening our doors in Spring of 2026. We are busy not only in the vineyard but also with making sure that we have a beautiful space to welcome you to and delicious wines for you to sip and enjoy.
